Thank you for your interest in Columbus Academy!
Columbus Academy uses an online system called Ravenna to collect and organize inquiries and applications. The information you are submitting will only be viewed by the Columbus Academy admissions office.
Complete an online inquiry form
We will promptly reply with information about the admissions process, upcoming admissions events and application deadlines. Families who wish to enroll more than one child should submit separate inquiries for each child.
We are honored that you are considering Columbus Academy for your child's education. Our admissions process offers ample opportunities for your family to get to know our students and teachers, and for us to get to know you and your child. We encourage you to explore our website to learn more about our special community.
Complete our application form. Applications are welcomed starting October 3 for enrollment in the following academic year. We look forward to receiving appropriate transcripts and teacher recommendations by the first week in January.
For families applying for admission, the deadline for applying for financial aid is in early February (please check with Admissions Office for exact date). Parents of accepted students are notified of financial aid decisions in early March. Families apply for financial aid through School & Student Services through NAIS by clicking here.
Plan a personal tour of Columbus Academy
A personal tour is your opportunity to tell us about your child’s needs and to preview how your family will experience education at Columbus Academy. Students who will be entering Grades 7-12 are encouraged to tour our campus alongside their parents. Younger students (entering 3YO through fifth grade) typically do not attend the introductory tour.
We encourage campus tours in the fall (September, October and November) and look forward to seeing you at one of our Academy Morning events in January!
“Shadow Day” is the opportunity for Middle and Upper School applicants to immerse themselves in a full school day with their grade-level peers. They will also get to know a member of the Admissions Team during an informal interview. Children applying to Lower School will visit us for the first time on the day of their screening.
Assessments and screenings (begin in January of each year)
Lower School Applicants (Grades PreK through 5) participate in age-appropriate screening involving Columbus Academy-designed assessments and standardized tests.
Middle and Upper School Applicants (Grades 6 through 12) take the Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE). Registration for this exam is conveniently available online. Click here to register. Note: applicants who have recently taken the ERB, ISEE, SSAT, PSAT, ACT or SAT may be excused from testing at the discretion of the Director of Admissions.
First-round decisions by March 1
Applications completed by February 17 are eligible for first-round decisions which are announced by March 1. Enrollment contracts and deposits are due back approximately 10 days later. Families applying for financial aid need to complete the application by early February 2019. Financial aid is not available to those entering or currently enrolled in our 3-Year-Old Explorers Program.
Click here to begin the financial aid request process.
For students applying after March 1, Academy follows a rolling admissions process with shadow days and screenings arranged individually.
