Families should begin the admissions process in the fall of the year prior to entry. Screening begins in December and spaces are awarded beginning on March 1. We continue to accept applications after March 1, but we cannot guarantee that all applicants will be screened for the upcoming school year if the applicant pool exceeds our capacity to screen candidates or if a grade level is full.
Admissions Committees in each of the three divisions of the school (Lower, Middle and Upper) review each candidate's test results, transcripts (2-12) and teacher recommendations to determine which candidates are qualified for admission.
Almost every student is involved in the extracurricular life of the school. More activities are added at each grade level with the most activities being offered in the Upper School. Involvement centers on student leadership, the performing arts, student publications, athletics and community service.
Academy parents become involved in the life of the school as members of our Parents Association and as room parents, library volunteers and athletic boosters. We pride ourselves on the frequency of our communication with parents and could not offer the quality program that we do without their help and support.
