There are many steps in the college search process and the journey is more of a marathon than a sprint. Pacing matters. At Academy, students begin to reflect on their strengths and preferences as the sophomore year comes to a close. Junior year is the time to focus on college options so students meet with their college counselor on a set schedule, prepare for and take the SAT and ACT, and build a road map for where they want to go including beginning to tour colleges. Senior year is an exciting time applying to college and awaiting acceptance letters. Counselors are praised for creating a growth-oriented, relationship-building college search process where students learn life skills, make joyful memories and enter college fully informed and confident.
