Biography

Tim Morford ’79 began teaching at Columbus Academy in 1999 and currently teaches upper school history while also serving as the Rainey S. Taylor History Chair. Tim is also involved with the upper school academic team and curriculum committee, and is currently focusing on his emerging interest in world history as part of his professional development. He has previously coached junior varsity boys soccer on campus and, prior to arriving at Academy, taught history for eight years at Mount Vernon High School. He earned a B.A. in history from Swarthmore College and an M.A.T. in history and education from the University of Virginia. Outside of work, Tim enjoys bicycling and kayaking. Tim and his wife, Chris, who works as a school nurse, have two children: a son, Mark ’12 and a daughter, Annie ’14.
