Sumona Ghosh Lester '99, Ph.D, started teaching upper school science at Columbus Academy in 2016 and began serving as science department chair in the fall of 2020. Sumona has a B.S. in Biology from The Ohio State University as well as a M.S. and Ph.D from The University of Toledo. Her graduate school research was primarily in the areas of exercise physiology, obesity and associated metabolic disorders - working both at the molecular level as well as assessing whole-body animal systems. Sumona and her husband, Jesse, have two children in the lower school, Leena '32 and Kiran '34.
