Biography

Shaka Arnold started on July 1, 2018, as the Head of Middle School at Columbus Academy. He was previously with The Gilman School in positions of teacher, coach, program director, admissions coordinator and dean of students. Prior to joining Academy, Shaka served as Assistant Head of Middle School for Pine Crest School in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He received his Master of Divinity from the Howard University School of Divinity and a Master of Education from Goucher College. After high school, Shaka attended Hargrave Military Academy in Chatham, Virginia, for one year. He graduated from The College of William and Mary with a B.S. in Kinesiology and worked in public relations for the Baltimore Ravens. Shaka and his wife, Davida, who teaches PreK on campus, have four children who attend Academy: Zoya ’24, Hanna ’26, Joza ’28 and Ina ’30.
