Please join the Parents' Association of Columbus Academy and the school's MOSAIC (Mobility, Opportunity, Social Equality, Action & Impact for our Children) group for the screening of 13TH, an Oscar nominated documentary about the historical role of the 13th Amendment and the mass incarceration of African Americans.

A facilitated discussion will follow led by Dr. Mark Lomax of The Columbus Foundation.

This free event will begin at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, January 24, in the Columbus Academy Dining Hall.

Refreshments will be provided as well as childcare for potty-trained children up to eighth grade. Students in grades 9-12 are encouraged to attend the screening and discussion with their parents/guardians. Students as young as seventh grade may want to attend. This is fine if they are accompanied by a parent/guardian, but we are sensitive to age recommendations for the film, such as from Common Sense Media.

In order to make proper arrangements, we ask that you RSVP by January 20 to Kelly Vaziri at kdvaziri@aol.com, and please note in your response if you need childcare, for how many and the ages.
