Mayling McKinley began serving as a Lower School Spanish Teacher at Columbus Academy in 2026. She brings nearly 15 years of diverse teaching experience across elementary education, world languages and English as a second language to the classroom. Prior to joining Academy, Mayling worked as a fourth and fifth grade math teacher at Columbus Spanish Immersion Academy, a substitute teacher in Upper Arlington Schools and an independent Spanish instructor. Her background also includes teaching K-5 Spanish at Bay Point Elementary Magnet School, second grade and kindergarten at Spring Creek Elementary, adult ESOL at Bonita Springs Middle Center for the Arts and Pre-K/Head Start at Lehigh Elementary.
Mayling holds a B.S. in early childhood education from Andrés Bello Catholic University in Caracas, Venezuela, and is currently pursuing a Master of Education in world language pedagogy.
Mayling lives with her husband, Nathan, and their two daughters, Julietta and Olivia
