All eleven National Merit Semifinalists from Columbus Academy announced last fall advanced to be Finalists in the 70th annual National Merit Scholarship Program. And of those 11 from our Class of 2025, six have become National Merit Scholars!
Audrey Lu, Clara Stevens and Hansheng Xu were selected for National Merit $2500 Scholarships by a committee of college admission officers and high school counselors.
Corporate-sponsored National Merit Scholarships were awarded to Arnav Nawani (NiSource) and Ethan Thompson (McGraw Hill) based on their abilities, skills and accomplishments.
And earlier this month, Lucas Xue accepted a college-sponsored National Merit Scholarship from Emory University that is renewable for up to four years.
In total, 30 members of our most recent graduating class earned national academic recognition from the College Board, which runs the National Merit Scholarship Program. In addition to these 11 Semifinalists pictured, 15 more were named National Merit Commended Students and four others were announced as College Board National Recognition Program Scholars.
