Biography

Sylvie Kademian, Ph.D., began teaching science in the Middle School at Columbus Academy at the start of the 2025-26 school year. She has several years of teaching experience including as a lecturer at the University of Michigan, science educator and curriculum developer with Biological Science Curriculum Studies and science teacher for Lake Central School Corporation in Indiana. Sylvie holds a B.S. in Natural Sciences from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, her M.Ed. in Science Education from Ohio State University and two degrees from the University of Michigan: M.S. in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology and Ph.D. in Science Education. During her time as a graduate student at Michigan, Sylvie received the Rackham Graduate School Dissertation Research Grant and Marsal Family School of Education Mini Grant for Dissertation Research. Sylvie and her husband Justin Goode have two children, Lottie and Sonny, and the family has two very old dogs named Scout and Bayer.
