Mark Burnett began serving as the Donor Relations & Stewardship Coordinator at Columbus Academy in June 2026. He brings extensive experience in development, having served most recently as the Director of Development for the Pittsburgh Festival Opera. While in that role, Mark oversaw gift acknowledgements, volunteer coordination, sponsorship solicitation and external communications. He previously held development roles at both Sarah Heinz House and Pittsburgh Central Catholic High School, where he contributed to organizational fundraising and event management efforts, respectively. Mark holds a B.A. from the University of Dayton in Communication Management and an M.S. in Leadership from Duquesne University. He achieved notable recognition in Pittsburgh for his community and professional leadership, earning a spot on Pittsburgh Magazine’s 40 Under 40 list in 2011, as well as being named one of Pittsburgh's 50 Finest by Whirl Magazine and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation in 2012. Mark lives in German Village with his partner, Dr. Ghayur Saeed, a Critical Care Physician at Springfield Regional Medical Center, and the couple has three dogs, Zeus, Rocky and Mia, and a cat named Anastasia.
