Katie Altier has worked in the lower school at Columbus Academy since 2000, and currently is the lead teacher in fourth grade. Outside of her main role on campus, Katie also serves on the mathematics, report card, and esthetics committees. During her first years at Academy, Katie was a member of the fifth-grade teaching staff for three years where she taught math. Katie also taught in Illinois for five years before coming to Academy, including four years as a second-grade teacher in Chicago Public Schools and one year as a sixth-grade science teacher in Ingleside. Katie and her husband Chris have two kids, daughter Caroline ’25 and son Graham ’28.
