Biography
Kara Haustovich began working at Columbus Academy in 2019 and currently teaches first grade and is the First Grade Team Leader. She has also served as a first grade associate and taught second grade on campus. Prior to Academy, Kara spent 13 years at Village Academy where she taught pre-kindergarten and first grade, was the kindergarten and first grade division chair, and the lower school division chair. Kara attended The Ohio State University where she earned a B.S. in human ecology and M.Ed. Kara and her husband Scott Whitesel are the parents of Benjamin ’31 and Nathan '35. Her hobbies include baking and taking dance classes, as well as hiking and travel, with some of her favorite trips include Costa Rica and Italy.
