Julie Simmons has worked at Columbus Academy since 1996 and has taught PreK since 2016. In addition to her main duties on campus, Julie also serves as the PreK team leader and is the lower school math curriculum coordinator. Julie’s teaching experience at Academy comes from teaching 20 in the lower school in kindergarten, first grade and second grade for a combined 20 years. In 2001, Julie achieved National Board Certification as an early childhood generalist, this coming one year prior to obtaining her master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction/Literacy Focus from Ashland University. Julie and her husband Ed have two children, a son, Tony ’08, and daughter, Kelly ’10.

“It is not little-known, but I am an over-the-top hockey fan. I will watch any hockey, any time. I am so excited to have a CA hockey team to support, as I have gone to see several of my lower school students play in hockey games through the years.”
