Erin Jones began serving as the Director of Academic Support Programs and Learning Resources at Columbus Academy in July 2026. She brings more than 24 years of experience in education, specializing in special education, academic support and student services. Prior to joining Academy, she served in leadership roles overseeing special education programs, compliance and staff in the Olentangy Local School District, Reynoldsburg City Schools and Pickerington Local School District. Earlier in her career, she spent eight years teaching in Illinois as a self-contained program teacher and inclusion specialist, supporting kindergarten through eighth-grade students with mild to moderate disabilities.
Erin earned a Bachelor of Science in Education in Special Education from Northern Illinois University and a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership from Aurora University. Throughout her career, she has developed, implemented and overseen programs serving preschool through high school students, while leading professional development for parents, educators and statewide conferences. Her areas of expertise include executive functioning, behavior supports, paraprofessional training, accommodations versus modifications, and Special Education 101. In recent years, she has also expanded her work in autism, trauma-informed care, the science of reading and adolescent mental health.
In her role at Academy, Erin leads academic support services and learning resources for students across all three divisions. She partners with faculty, administrators and families to ensure students receive individualized support, while strengthening schoolwide practices that promote student success, accessibility and inclusive learning environments.
