Cyndi Yakscoe joined Columbus Academy in 1988 and is currently serving as a Lower School Reading Specialist. She is a certified Structured Literacy Dyslexia Specialist. Cyndi has also served the school as a lead teacher in third and fourth grades, and as an associate teacher in grades one and two. She served on the PACA board as well for two years. Prior to arriving at Columbus Academy she taught seventh and eighth grade reading in Fremont, Ohio and study skills to college freshmen at Bowling Green State University. In 2017 Cyndi was a Milt Taylor Grant recipient and created resources for teachers to use when implementing Orton Gillingham methodologies in their classrooms. Cyndi and her husband Craig, who teaches physical education in the Lower School, have two adult children: Drew '10 and Amanda '13. The whole family shares a love for dogs.
