Biography

Amelia Compton began serving as a learning specialist in the lower school at the start of the 2026-27 school year, this after teaching fifth grade at Columbus Academy from 2024-26. She previously taught eighth grade math and science, and used the Orton-Gillingham approach to reading and spelling, over the course of four years at Marburn Academy. She holds a B.S. in middle childhood education with concentrations in math and science from Otterbein University and is a certified Orton-Gillingham classroom educator. Amelia is one of three Academy graduates in her family, as she is an alumna from the Class of 2016 along with her brothers in alumni Hayden '19 and Tanner '22. Her father, John, also teaches history in the upper school.
