Biography

Alyssa serves as the director of special programs at Columbus Academy and has been in the role since 2006. She directs the school’s Summer Experience, CASE, ASA, rentals and tutoring, in addition to her being a co-advisor of the GSA. Alyssa has a vast array of experience having previously worked at Honda of America Family Center as its ESL director and as education coordinator at the Franklin Park Conservatory. At Honda, Alyssa facilitated all facets of programming for Japanese families working there and living in the Dublin area. Prior to that, her position at the Franklin Park Conservatory spanned six years as she implemented programming in relation to the many exhibits, including direction of the summer programs. She also has over 12 years of experience tutoring families in ESL. Away from work, Alyssa enjoys spending time with her son, Wyeth, as well as making jewelry, dancing and doing yoga.

What career did you want to pursue as a kid?
“For many years I wanted to become a Vet until I realized some of the more difficult situations this job encounters. Then a Chemical Engineer.”

Favorite places to eat
“I love Akai Hanna. A close second would be El Vaquero or Iacano’s.”
