Biography

Rebecca Amonor began working as an associate teacher for pre-kindergarten at Columbus Academy in September 2023. She also serves as a writing coach in the middle school and is an assistant advisor for our student-led newspaper Academy Life. Rebecca is a graduate of the Academy Class of 2017 and, during her undergraduate career at Yale University, she was a first-year counselor in the dean's office as well as an academic strategist for the Yale Poorvu Center for Teaching and Learning. Rebecca obtained a B.A. in English and African American Studies from Yale University where she graduated cum laude, before also earning a M.A. in English and American Literature from Washington University in St. Louis where she is currently pursuing a Ph.D.

"I really love Thai food, but some of my favorite restaurants include Cheesecake Factory, Northstar and P.F. Chang's!"

"I do not like straight chocolate, specifically plain chocolate without added things like peanuts or caramel."
