Biography

Katy Frickel has been teaching part-time at Columbus Academy since 2001. She began her career at Academy as the learning styles specialist in the middle school, where she taught for four years. Katy then moved to the upper school as one of the reading specialists. Outside of her main role on campus, Katy also supports the Service Board by managing the data entry of student volunteer hours and participating in multiple service events on and off campus. Katy also enjoys attending multiple extracurricular events in order to see students “shine” in activities outside the classroom. Katy and her husband, Peter, have three children: daughters Samantha '23 and Allison '26, and son Tyler '27.
