Biography

Crystal Tursich has been an upper school art teacher at Columbus Academy since 2016 and will add the role of Fine Arts Department Chair at the start of the 2022-23 school year. She also assists with installing new art shows in the Morris Hall Art Gallery on campus, serves as a senior project advisor and helps submit student work for state competitions. She is also a member of Academy’s Strategic Vision Goal 4: Service Implementation team. Prior to coming to Academy, Crystal worked in several roles at the Columbus College of Art & Design (CCAD), including as an adjunct instructor and assistant lab manager for the photographer department and photography instructor for the College Preview program, as well as time spent as a lecturer in the art department at The Ohio State University. Crystal also makes and exhibits artwork locally, regionally, and nationally, and is an active member of the Society for Photographic Education and is involved with the Women’s and High School Educators' Caucuses as well. She holds a B.F.A. from Adrian College and a M.F.A. from CCAD. Crystal and her partner, Jake, have a daughter.

Little-known fact
I never really considered moving to Columbus before the opportunity arose in 2007. I'm so glad I took that chance because I have had great opportunities, made amazing connections, and grown in more ways than I can count.”
