Susan Brookhart began teaching chemistry in the upper school at Columbus Academy in 2020. She came to Academy after teaching abroad for six years at Cairo American College, the American School of Doha, and the Western Academy of Beijing. Before moving abroad, Susan and her family lived in Portland, Oregon where she was a Professor of Chemistry at Clark College, just over the state line, in Vancouver, Washington. Susan holds a B.A. in Chemistry and French from Amherst College and a M.S. in Chemistry from California Institute of Technology. Susan and her husband Arthur Leo have two kids: Brodie ’21 and Emmett ’22.
