Tuition and Financial Aid

An Academy education is the investment of a lifetime and the returns are priceless.

At Academy, we work hard to make our education affordable and accessible to families. We have the largest financial aid budget of area independent schools. We have a Merit Scholarship Program for qualified students entering grades 9 and 10. Our Business Office has a variety of payment options to assist families in managing tuition costs.

Financial Aid at Columbus Academy

Families of students who believe their children are eligible for admission to Columbus Academy but who cannot afford to pay full tuition charges may apply for financial assistance.

Each year, Academy grants over $2.7 million to approximately 21% of the student body in Grades PreK to 12. The average grant is just over $11,000. The majority of financial assistance is granted to students in Grades 6 through 12. Students in Lower School are welcome to apply for assistance, but grants at these grades are more limited and rarely exceed half tuition.

Upon acceptance, Academy awards aid to students based solely on financial need as determined by School and Student Service by NAIS (SSS). Upon request, financial aid information will be sent to parents of applicants beginning in Mid-December.

For families applying for admission, the deadline for applying for financial aid is in early February (please check with Admissions Office for exact date). Parents of accepted students are notified of financial aid decisions in early March. Families apply for financial aid through SSS by clicking here.

Current CA Families

Currently enrolled families should file online to SSS by mid-December (check with Admissions Office for exact date). Families completing the financial aid process in a timely manner receive notification of their grant with re-enrollment information.
