Maddie Burns joined the Columbus Academy faculty in the fall of 2019 as a substitute fourth grade associate teacher before being hired to the position in November. She also runs her own private tutoring business, Start Soaring Private Tutoring, for students age three through fourth grade. A 2014 graduate of Academy, Maddie previously worked two years as a substitute and camp teacher at the Jewish Community Center New Albany Preschool. She has a B.A. from The Ohio State University and a M.Ed. from Vanderbilt University where she completed her student teaching at Metro Nashville Public Schools in Tennessee. Maddie also has experience working as a camp counselor with Academy’s Summer Experience program and with our after-school program C.A.S.E. She also holds an Academy girl's track & field program record as a member of the 4x100 relay team.
