Kyla Morgan Young will serve as a long-term maternity substitute beginning this fall for upper school history teacher, Dr. Amanda Bundy. Kyla holds a pair of degrees from The Ohio State University, including graduating magna cum laude with a B.A. and a M.A. in African and African-American Studies. She is also currently a doctoral candidate from Princeton University in twentieth-century U.S. history. Her research interests include American religions, corporate ethics, and the history of social movements. An Ohio native, and proud Ohio State alumnae, Kyla looks forward to returning to the land of college football and Jeni’s Splendid Ice Cream. Outside of teaching, Kyla has served as a pastoral assistant and helped develop community events for several congregations in Ohio, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey, and, in her spare time, enjoys practicing yoga and seeking out the best local coffee.
