Heather Rakosik began teaching physical education in the middle school at Columbus Academy in 2019. She also serves as head varsity girls basketball coach and as a middle school coach in some capacity. Heather and her daughter, Scout ’30, recently moved to Gahanna from Wooster where she held several positions including coordinator of student programs/student life at The Ohio State University-ATI, junior varsity girls basketball coach and varsity assistant coach at Triway High School, and time spent as a substitute teacher in Ashland, Holmes, Stark and Wayne County school districts. A cum laude graduate of Muskingum University, Heather holds a B.A. in health and physical education, and a M.A. in education from Defiance. She has previous coaching experience as the head softball coach for Bucknell University, Ohio Wesleyan University, and Hiram College, as well as an assistant women’s basketball coach at Ohio Wesleyan, Hiram, and Defiance College. Outside of work, Heather enjoys staying active, playing basketball and racquetball, attending concerts, and spending time with her daughter.
