October 23, 2017

Dear Middle School Families,
Report cards for Columbus Academy middle school students will be published for you to see tomorrow (Tuesday, October 24) after school on My BackPack. We ended our first quarter on Friday, October 20, and the students' new quarter-long classes began today (Monday, October 23).

It has been a smooth start of the year filled with great activities, very successful trips and -- win or lose -- terrific teams. Science Olympiad, MathCounts and Chess Club have had enthusiastic early meetings and are preparing for competitions later in the year. Ski Club is once again very popular, and the middle school musical "Singin' in the Rain" is in auditions.

Teachers and students are fully involved in classes and projects. Our affinity groups are active. As our fall season of athletics winds down, we begin our winter sports season with tryouts that will lead to games starting in November.

The first dance for students in Grades 7-8 is scheduled for November 3 at Columbus School for Girls. Please click here for more details and our policies regarding this event and two other dances (one on our campus and one at Wellington) later in the year.

Columbus Academy is a busy place. Our middle school community is active, interested and in full swing.

After spending many years in Florida, I am thoroughly enjoying a beautiful Midwest autumn. I hope you get outside to appreciate it as well.
Sincerely,

Bob McGrath
Interim Head of Middle School
