Columbus Academy relies on the involvement of parents as an integral part of the school community. The partnership between educators and parents is a critical alliance that enriches the lives of all our students. Parents/teacher conferences and scheduled discussions with division heads offer valuable opportunities for information and exchange.
The connections between parents also serve as a part of the web of support that strengthens our school experience. The Parents' Association of Columbus Academy (PACA) offers volunteer opportunities that provide support to varied student activities as well as fundraising for scholarships and other school projects. PACA plans such events as the Spring Fundraiser and Charlie David Dinner that bring the school community together. Parent volunteers are also critical to the success of the Annual Fund which directly supports school operations. Parent/teacher conferences and discussions led by division heads offer valuable opportunities for exchange of information and perspective. Of course, parents also serve as models for students in our school community, whether driving on campus, attending a performance/sporting event or hosting a social gathering.
Volunteer opportunities for parents are published in the bi-weekly Viking Voice newsletters. We welcome parent support at the many student activities and encourage parents to partner with each other in supporting all of our students.
