CUM LAUDE SOCIETY
The Cum Laude Society has the primary objective of recognizing superior scholarship. Modeled after the national collegiate society Phi Beta Kappa, CA's Cum Laude Chapter was founded in 1921. Members meet annually to select candidates for membership, and inductees are installed during the school’s spring award ceremonies. Foremost among the qualifications for selection are superior scholarship – as reflected in a student’s commitment to the pursuit of knowledge and in his/her academic excellence via grades – and the demonstration of good character, honor and integrity in all aspects of school life. Cum Laude Society’s motto – Excellence, Justice, Honor – extols qualities which, ideally, each member of the society should maintain as personal goals.
