Senior Projects well underway for Class of 2008
|
One week into their senior projects, members of the Class of 2008 are currently
immersed in their various undertakings.
Five students - Ayman Bazerbashi,
Peter Downing, Courtney Miller, Jon Razi
and Anna Thompson - are in Hefei, China,
with history teacher Kyle Tong. Others who left the country include Sherine Beheiry (photography in Cairo,
Egypt), Elyse Caxide (sailing in the
Caribbean), Kara Hansell
(volunteering at Holocaust history mission in Israel), Jackie Wolfe (studying martial arts in Thailand), and Ned Dutton, David Karikomi and Alex
Tomko (see turtle conservation in Costa Rica). Some of the stateside projects include Hobie Hondros working on an oil rig in Kansas, Max
Kelsten honing his acting skills at the Arden Theatre in Philadelphia,
Brad Lind becoming a whitewater
rafting guide in North Carolina, Anthony White producing music with a
multi-platinum artist in Atlanta, and Shreya Kundur, Emily Riley and Holly Tu
helping to rebuild New Orleans. Closer to home, Patrick McGregor, Linda
Mullin and Brenden Patch are
writing a decade-by-decade "Tribute to Academy" for the school's upcoming
centennial celebration in 2011. To read
an article on senior projects from Saturday's Dispatch that includes a profile
